“My primary phone is the iPhone,” Woz told the Daily Beast. “I love the beauty of it. But I wish it did all the things my Android does, I really do.”

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak says he’s a fan of phones powered by Google’s Android mobile operating system, the Daily Beast reported.

And ya I spelled wishes wrong, but this thing won't let me modify a topic.

And his primary phone is still a ???? iPhone?

Do all the iPhone bashing you want. The Android market is nothing other than iPhone clones with an open source OS. As with any open source OS, you'll get a higher attraction of mod developers. 'tis why the Android can do what it does. You also, have to worry about open source software that does things you don't know it's doing. Like sending tracking data, including user names and passwords, back to a 3rd party you don't want to have that info. Say all you want about 'big brother', but i'm glad apple has developers look at software before it's in the App store.. They filter out the aps that are going to try and steal data off your device that they shouldn't be getting their hands on.

But as the powerful Woz stated, the iPhone is the simpler and better connected device than the Android.

Who cares Worms? I do, it's fun bugging Aiwa about Iphones.

Wozniak is an apple founder and a Mac user, he says his Iphone works better with the Mac so it makes sense for him. Like he said if your Mac user the iphone makes sense, if you aren't...

Um, Aiwa you do know that Apple got the crap kicked out of it because they were secretly ... you know.. tracking everything you did right? Apple IS the ultimate big brother and they dont' want to share. And they still are.

I'd rather apple do it than some 14 year old kid who is after my credit card info or bank logins.

Say all you want about google and apple being big brother, but they are the least of our worries.

You're the one who brought up the big brother thing. It's simple really, don't download apps that punk kids wrote... Kind of like on your pc.

Open Source? Yeah, not so much. Without real ways of providing SLAs to enterprises, no grass-roots movement, no matter how interesting from an intellectual standpoint, is ever going to replace them.

I used Android when it was Vanilla... Then people had to figure a way to make money and added programs you couldnt delete ( basically ads), overlays, and carrier specifics that made it not so open source... We now use 3 iphones and my kids use Ipod touches to text...We are also using Ipad2`s to replace in car laptops at work... I dont like Mac, but for mobile devices Apple works, everytime...

Are you talking about operating systems or phones?.. I agree when it comes to a gaming OS, but have you seen Microsofts epic fails at the phone market... Mobile 6 on the Palm Treo`s were the last decent ones... Everything since has been a joke...Go to Verizons site, they have a bunch of Android devices, All the Apple devices and one pitiful Microsoft OS phone thats free with an upgrade... Not a lot of crushing going on there...

I was going to post that I like my android because Swiftkey makes it easy to type in passwords compared to the iPhone, but now that this is just a flame war... vi is better than emacs! Picard is better than Kirk!
I like tiny sigs.

Um, you read that wrong sparky. He wasn't saying microsoft was going to crush anything, he was saying apple and microsoft are going to be crushed by open source. :)

I wasn't trying to flame up the post or anything.. Was just pointing out some things..Android was great until about 2.0.. Not sure why they allow each phone maker to make their own version of it through overlays and non-removable apps..

They allow it because it's open source. Instead of forcing everyone to have the exact same thing they let companies customize how they want, and if you know how you can root the phone and customize it how YOU want. It's all about options.

I just hate apple because it feels like they're trying to sell a mindset to me - to make me think that I need all of these inter-connectable things that only they make. I just feel like my hand is forced when I think about being an apple customer - so I don't like it.

I'm a fan just because of the way the products of their's that I own (a couple of Macbook Pros, Time Capsule, iphone 4 and an ipad 2) are super fast, have great uptimes and what I see onscreen is perfectly responsive and is rendered beautifully in very high pixel densities. The security is pretty clean and easily understood - file and directory stuff is handled with Unix methods and shit just works. For me, at least. I've never had to throw away a night rebuilding my machines like I've done too many times with my gaming boxes.

If you could merge the gaming ubiquity of the PC with the laptop performance, style and speediness of my Macs in a cost-effective and upgradeable tower design, I'd be in computing heaven.

Meh, I'd rather see an Android PC that ran games :) . Apple can keep their overpriced computers and software to themselves.

I don't agree that they are overpriced. They just don't sell low performance equipment. Put their hardware side by side with a comparable PC and the prices are pretty damn close.

Never really had a Apple product until my cell phone.. I'll probally never touch a mac for home computing just because of the games I play and I'm not very open to trying new things.. Getting used to Vista from XP was hell for me. That being said I've never had a problem with my 3Gs phone and I've been for the most part happy with it. While I might have hopped on the bandwagon at work (all the other guys at work own iphones) and that kinda shifted my decision I don't think I missed out by not getting an andriod or blackberry. So I can see both sides of the arguement but in the end, it all comes down to personnal preference.

For myself I went with an Iphone for 2 reason. I knew how it worked what it looked like and the keyboard is big. A black berry wouldn't do me because my thumbs are to big for the keyboard and its hard to judge what other phones look like with there demos. (just a plastic case to show you what the home screen looks like) with the Iphone I had a chance to use it and look through it. So for me it was familiarity. I never heard many problems about it and was comfortable with it from the start. either way android and itunes has a lot of the same apps to begin with under my understanding.
